Education | Massachusetts of Technology (BS) University of Mich • Ricardo RossellóRicardo Antonio Rosselló Nevares (San Juan, 7 de marzo de 1979) es un profesor universitario y político puertorriqueño, quien fue el 12.° gobernador de Puerto Rico desde el 2 de enero de 2017 hasta su renuncia (Después de que los manifestantes en la mayor protesta de la isla en la historia reciente pidieron su dimisión por un escándalo que involucró charlas privadas filtradas, así como investigaciones de corrupción y arrestos) el 2 de agosto de 2019.[1][2] Es hijo del exgobernador de Puerto RicoPedro Rosselló, el primer hijo de un exgobernante electo a ese mismo puesto.[3][4] Juventud y educación[editar]Es hijo del doctor y exgobernador de Puerto Rico Pedro Rosselló y de Irma Margarita Nevares de Rosselló. Cursó estudios primarios en el Colegio Marista de Guaynabo y durante sus años de escuela superior fue atleta, tres veces campeón en tenis junior y el primer puertorriqueño en ser electo a las Olimpiadas Internacionales de Matemáticas. Obtuvo un bachillerato del Instituto Tecnológico de Masachusets (MIT) en ingeniería química. Además, obtuvo un doctorado en ingeniería biomédica por la Universidad de Míchigan. He is a graduate of the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and Biomedical Engineering with a concentration in Development Economics. During those years, Rosselló Nevares began to develop an interest in community causes and became the leader of several social programs at his university. For his dedication to these causes, Rosselló Nevares was awarded the MIT Dean’s Award for Outstanding Community Service. After his baccalaureate, Rosselló Nevares continued his academic career at the University of Michigan, where he studied his master’s and doctorate in Science. After completing his doctoral studies, he completed postdoctoral studies at Duke University in North Carolina. Rosselló Nevares began to get involved in various political campaigns at local and national level. Locally, in 2004 he was manager of the Rosselló TV initiative for the campaign to govern his father, Dr. Pedro Rosselló, in addition to directing various facets of the 2008 campaign.
